Chinese New Year of the Pig 2019

Our school had a very busy Chinese New Year of the Pig, with Lion dance performances lasting over two weeks.
Restaurants, local Chinese associations and schools all enjoyed the excellent performances by our team, many are long standing customers who we see each year.

The highlight for the team is the annual Chinese New Year Lion dance parade in our local town Maidenhead, drawing crowds of over 2,000 people the high street is packed with people all thrilled by the noise and lively performance. Again, this year our team bought out 5 lions to perform, included in the parade students from the school carried traditional red Chinese lanterns along with all the flags and banners.

A team of 35 people put their efforts into creating this largest Lion dance parade in Berkshire and surrounding areas. Our students also gave demonstrations by children performing Eagle Claw kung fu , adults performing Tai chi and adults showcasing some of the more advance Eagle Claw Kung Fu skills.

We’d like to thank the Spoore Merry and Rixman Foundation who have kindly sponsored our Lion dance team over the past few years for their amazing support
