Chinese New Year Lion Dance Saturday 28th of Jan 1pm saw Maidenhead Burst into life with the annual New Year Parade organised by the Eagle Claw Kung Fu School UK in Maidenhead, Maidenhead Town Partnership with support from the Chinese Oriental community assoc.

The Year of the Water Rabbit 2023 started with a loud burst of Firecrackers before the Eagle Claw Kung Fu School team of 21 performers launched into life with 3 Lions.

The Chinese God of Wealth Cáishén 财神, The Big Head Buddha Dai Tou Fo 大头佛, flags banners, the strong beat of the Drum and percussion as they made thier way down the high street to crowds of 3,400 people who had come together from all around Maidenhead and local towns.

The High street was full of spectators enjoying the procession, parents, children of all ages and nationalities coming together to enjoy the CNY show.

“For over 20 years we have been working hard to bring this unique annual parade into Maidenhead, it is a very important date in our calendar of events and our team absolutely love doing this CNY new year parade, they practice all year long and include students who are kids, teenagers and adults from our kung fu school”

The team also gave performamces at High Wycombe Chinese Association and restaurants all across the local area
